Creating art is like experimenting with magic; it's difficult, you end up failing a lot, but for some reason you can't ever stop trying. Trying to bring out the feelings, thoughts, images, in essence the world that you live in that other's may not see. You weave a spell with each pencil mark and brush stroke. Every choice you make from how light or dark you make something, to the color combinations so carefully planned, when placed together correctly creates a pull at a person's emotions, sometimes in startling ways. This is truly magic; to be able to connect so deeply, to send out your very self as an individual and without words, sound, touch, without substances of any kind, be able to guide their very beings towards one emotion or another, one memory or another.
I have always enjoyed creating artwork; understanding the background processes, recognizing that I can expose little pieces of my own mind, seeing how the colors and values play in and out, creating new people, places, and events. All of this appeals to me greatly, as does the desire to share with others those little pieces of my mind.

I began my study of art before college, and in the end continued in it throughout my university, earning a BFA with an emphasis in illustration. Funny though, how even after studying art so much I can't seem to stop the desire to learn and share it. Life continues, and I married and had children, but the constant need to create via pencil, pen, and paint never ends.
